[GM] How do deal with Significant Others joining the table

A player wants their Significant Other to choice the game, or your own want’s to play. How do you handle it? Should you avoid death for their character? What if they’re no good? Should the rest of the table get a vote on whether they join? Roleplaying and TTRPGs can be very tricky for couples or thruples or groups – this is how I run my game of D&D with my Significant Other.
